request an appointmentColposcopy for abnormal pap smear: A colposcopy is a way to get a close-up view of the cervix. It is used to detect abnormal cells in and around the cervix. A colposcopy procedure is used to determine whether more tests or treatments are needed. You may be scheduled to have a colposcopy performed after an abnormal pap, to find the cause of unexplained bleeding, or to take a closer look at other possible vaginal complications.
LEEP: Cells on the cervix grow and shed all the time. Sometimes these cells change and become abnormal. This may be an early warning that cancer may occur. When test show that you have abnormal cells on your cervix, your doctor may suggest the loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP). LEEP is used to remove the abnormal cells from your cervix. LEEP is an effective and simple way to treat abnormal cells and can be performed in office.
Circumcision: Circumcision in an elective procedure performed in our office or at the hospital the first few days of life on healthy male newborns. The procedure is done quickly. The baby may cry during the procedure and for a short while afterward. Local anesthesia can greatly reduce your baby’s discomfort. If you decide to have your son circumcised, or need more information please let us know. There is a prepayment charge that must be paid in order to schedule your son’s upcoming procedure.
Uro-dynamics Testing: If you are experiencing urine leakage when you laugh or cough, are not able to hold your urine until you get to a bathroom, you may have urinary incontinence (also called Overactive bladder). There are many causes of urinary incontinence including infection, medications, weak bladder muscles, ect. Multiple pregnancies, being over-weight and genetic weaknesses can increase your risk too. Urodynamic testing is offered in the office for urinary incontinence and measurements are taken to evaluate your bladder’s function and efficiency.
Hysteroscopy is overall an uncomplicated procedure performed in our office and is used to diagnose or treat problems of the uterus. Your health care provider may recommend this procedure if you are experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding, repeated history or miscarriages or to locate your Intrauterine device (IUD).
Dilation and Curettage (D&C) is a surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions of the uterus. A D&C consists of dilating the cervix, placing a thin instrument through the cervix and into the uterus and removing tissue from inside the uterus, also known as curettage. This procedure can be done for various reasons and in the comfort of our office.
